The NPAPI infrastructure was designed in 1995 by Netscape and the plugin that runs over NPAPI infrastructure will have, by default, full permissions over the client’s computer. NPAPI plugins were deprecated because of their security risks. The deadline for Google Chrome was version 45, pushed worldwide just a few hours ago. Since 2013, Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, such as Opera, has warned programmers all over the world to avoid using NPAPI plugins in web-based systems anymore. Starting from 1 September 2015, Google has finally released Google Chrome 45, which does not support NPAPI (Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface) anymore.
